The student body is largely composed of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and students agree to adhere to a strict honor code. A large percentage of students have lived abroad, and the university has a strong emphasis on language learning. BYU is known for its extensive religious education curriculum and its NCAA Division I athletics program.
