Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College
Louisiana State University's main campus occupies 650 acres on the Mississippi River. Its 250 buildings are built in the style of Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. As the state's flagship university, LSU offers a comprehensive range of programs with a strong emphasis on research. The university is known for its passionate sports culture and its live tiger mascot, Mike.
Financial Aid
The sticker price is rarely what families actually pay. LSU's grant and scholarship aid lowers the net price for most income brackets. 26% of students receive Pell Grants; 30% take federal loans.
